Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”
This update on his health follows the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
